Summer 2014
We made another trip to Wrightsville in July, went to Marbles Kids Museum with Nana and Papa, made a trip to Winston-Salem to visit Aunt Katelyn & Uncle Jerod, along with Gramps. There, we checked out the Museum in Winston-Salem! That was a lot of fun. We enjoyed cook-outs with family (including Aunt Jenny, Aunt Mary & Nonna). Play-dates at our house, at our friends' houses, lots of trips to the playgrounds and a trip to the NC Zoo (which didn't really end well).
Spring-Summer 2014
We had a fun summer! We ventured off to Wrightsville Beach a couple of times. Going to the beach has changed a bit since having children. No more lounging around in the sun. For starters, the amount of stuff needed to make even a day trip to the beach is astounding. Beach gear, normal kid gear, changes of clothes, diapers, wipes, SNACKS, SNACKS & MORE SNACKS, sunscreen, hats, sunglasses, beach toys, wagon, stroller, drinks, coolers, and the list goes on and on. By the time we made it to the actual sand and water, we were pooped! There was no rest however because Grace & Lily were beyond excited to be at the beach (and who could blame them!?). These girls love the waves and couldn't get enough of them. They played in the sand for a minute and then were off chasing seagulls, finding rocks and seashells, seaweed, and attempting to go into the ocean. After a few hours of straight chasing our kids around the beach, we needed a break so back to the car with two tired, wet, sandy children. We attempted to go to the river-walk in Wilmington to get our favorite beach treat---Kilwin's Ice Cream. Unfortunately, while Jeremy was waiting in a long long looonnng line, a girl passed out & fell requiring an ambulance etc. So we didn't end up with ice cream but did enjoy walking around downtown with the girls. All in all, it was a fun (exhausting) trip! Here are some photos.
Easter 2014
Here are some photos of Easter 2014!We enjoyed "steam pots" with the girls, nana, papa, Aunt Katelyn & Uncle Jerod!
April 2014 Recap
Today- Feb 19, 2015 Again, its been almost a year since my last post. I guess Facebook has gotten in the way of this blog so in lieu of "Facecrack", I am attempting to utilize this blog instead to share with family and friends. So here we are, playing catch-up yet again. I will try to recap briefly our past year!
March 2014-We visited Useppa Island with gramps, Aunt Katelyn, Aunt Erika, Uncle Jared, Uncle Tom and Aunt Kathy! It was a fun adventure for us all. To begin with, it took a lot of planning to pack all of our gear for us and the girls. Once in Florida, we had to get a rental car where we visited my aunt Lucy, Uncle Todd and my cousins Matthew & Savannah. We enjoyed lunch with them in their home and the girls LOVED playing with their (second) cousins! Matthew & Savannah were so sweet to the girls. They showed them their rooms (their closets too!) and Savannah even attempted to give us some of her toys as gifts. Sweet sweet kids who we don't get to see as often as we would like! We loved our time with them. After our visit, we drove a couple of hours to get on a water taxi to get to Useppa Island. It is a gorgeous island and we enjoyed our time there---especially our golf cart adventures!
